The first executive director appointed when the Miami-Dade Commission on Ethics and Public Trust was formed was Robert Meyers. Upon announcing his resignation in February 2011, Mr. Meyers told Ethics Commissioners that when he accepted the position in 1998, he intended to stay for only a few years. “Now,” he said, “after an interesting and challenging twelve and a half years, it’s time to pass the baton to someone else.” Prior to joining the Ethics Commission, Mr. Meyers was a professor at the University of Tennessee, where he taught courses in criminal law, legal ethics, government law and public administration. |
