Joseph Centorino, Former Executive Director

 Joseph Centorino

Joseph Centorino served as Executive Director of the Miami-Dade Commission on Ethics and Public Trust from September 2011 through August 2018, following his 25-year career at the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office – most of that time serving as the Chief of the Public Corruption Unit. Among his accomplishments was enactment of an Honor Code for County and many municipal employees, creating a "Civilty Oath" for office holders and establishing "Ethical Governance Day."  Mr. Centorino holds B.A. and M.A. degrees in Political Science from Tufts University and a J.D. degree from Boston College Law School. In addition to the private practice of law and work as an assistant district attorney in Massachusetts, Mr. Centorino served for eight years as an elected city councilman in his hometown of Salem and worked briefly as a congressional aide.
