About Jose Arrojo, Executive Director
Jose Arrojo assumed the position of Executive Director of the Miami-Dade Commission on Ethics and Public Trust on September 5th, 2018. His selection came after over two decades at the Miami Dade State Attorney’s Office including fourteen years as Chief Assistant State’s Attorney tasked with leading the office’s Special Prosecutions Units. During that time, he supervised all investigations and prosecutions of crimes committed by public officers and employees.
In his more than thirty years as a lawyer, Mr. Arrojo also rotated out of government and held in-house legal department and private law firm positions during which he focused his practice on the representation of county and municipal employees in labor & employment and civil rights matters.
Mr. Arrojo is a graduate of the University of Miami and the Florida State University College of Law. He has served as an Instructor and Adjunct Professor for local universities and colleges and is frequent lecturer and panelist on investigation of misconduct by public employees and related topics. He has collaborated with investigators, prosecutors, and jurists on these topics, locally, nationally and with visiting foreign delegations.
Mr. Arrojo has served and held leadership positions with the Florida Bar on Grievance Committees, the Criminal Rules & Procedures Committee, the Criminal Law Section’s Executive Committee, the American Bar Association’s Criminal Justice Section, the American Prosecutor’s Association and national ABA and APA task forces.
